New puppy? You need some support and information. You've just got your adorable little bundle home ..... help? It's not that bad.....honestly!

Remember that your new puppy has been part of a large family group and is now on his own. During the first few days he'll wonder where his 'family' has gone but you can help here.

You probably think he needs peace and quiet. Fair point, but he has been used to a lot of action and noise in the first 8 weeks of his life. One way you can help him to settle into your home is....think like him!

Many people think cages or crates are cruel but puppies love them. It's their space, they feel safe and most of all it's a safe place where they can't harm themselves. Balance this with normal play time and your pup will be happy.

Like babies, puppies like noise. A quiet radio on during your puppies first few nights in your home usually works a treat. Help....Terry Wogan at 2pm!! Nightmare. A soft light also helps. Please don't think you're helping you're puppy by sitting with him or NIGHTMARE....taking him into your bed. He needs to settle and from day-or night- one you have to help.

Be firm and give him lots of attention during day light hours. Come night time.....harden your heart!!
